Chinatown Center Events Garner International Recognition

Austin, Texas October 26, 2007 – Austin’s first and only Chinatown Center recently earned two prestigious awards for their 3-day Grand Opening weekend festivities hosted in Austin in September 2006.

Recognized by the International Special Events Society (www.ises.com), Chinatown Center earned the coveted Esprit Award, in the category of Best Event with a Legacy, and a Texas Star Award for best multiple day event with a budget greater than $150,000.

This year over 200 submissions were received for the Esprit awards.  Finalists included Walt Disney World and Canada’s Decor & More.  Competing with events of this caliber was a true honor for the owner and developer of Chinatown Center and the event management team, Red Velvet Events, Inc. 

Since that successful weekend, Austin’s Chinatown Center has hosted two more large festivals on-site and each have surpassed attendance and attendee expectations since Grand Opening weekend.
